On this page you can find testimonials from our Academy Sponsors sharing their match-day experience at Portman Road

Ipswich Town v Newcastle United – Monday 17th April

Thank you Gary Miller at OMA Group!

“Quite simply we had a tremendous afternoon thank you very much indeed!

The guests were exceptionally impressed and they had travelled a long way to visit Portman Road, from Australia, Singapore and Dubai. A great shame that one or two were Newcastle fans…….not!

It was also exceptionally kind of Simon to bring Titus across and to have a photo pitch side

So we were delighted with the day”

Steve Hann shares his thoughts with us

” It was a great experience …as always .

The people at the club are so friendly and of course what a fabulous result! ”

Ipswich Town v Wigan Athletic – Tuesday 4th April

Thank you Paul Simpson at Orwell Truck & Van!

“Dear Simon

Many thanks indeed for your hospitality on Tuesday evening for the game against Wigan. We were treated to a very good meal in the Hall of Fame restaurant and entertained by Brian Hamilton, who was his usual charming self.

Best of all, our box was perfectly placed for us to witness all 3 Ipswich goals hit the back of the net!

Once again, many thanks for another great night at Portman Road.”

Phil Scott at The Mortgage Centres said:

‘Another great experience in the directors box coupled with a deserved win!’

Warwick Dunnett from Seven Telematics thoroughly enjoyed the evening

“Based on the previous few homes, what a fantastic match to watch, team showed true team spirit and what we should be achieving.

As usual the corporate hospitality was second to none, staff and food was excellent, Well done TEAMITFC!”

Ipswich Town v Birmingham City – Saturday 1st April

Thank you Sandra Cuningham & Family!

“A very enjoyable afternoon spent in the Director’s Box, it’s an honour and a privilege to be able to watch the match from there and also to have use of the Champions Lounge before and after the game as well as at half time.

It was nice to see some of the ex players in both the lounge and the Box as well as a former club chairman and managers. This all helps to make the occasion so special.

The staff in the Champions Lounge are all very helpful, attentive and professional as are those guiding you to the seats. It’s a great view you get of the game and a lovely experience to be surrounded by, such esteemed company as the ex chairman, players, managers, opposition representatives and scouts.”

Ipswich Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Tuesday 7th March

Paul Lewis at T&L Leasing and his guests share their match-day experience

“I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality on Tuesday (I have seen better games you will not be surprised to know!)

I had a colleague and a customer with me, and I can’t fault the attention given by the team in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite. Everyone from
Roger who hosts the Suite with good humour, Johnny Wark- a fine ambassador for the club (still think he could have provided a threat from midfield on the night), and the rest of the staff in the suite are a credit to the club.

Our evening was completed by a successful second prize in the “Grab a Grand” draw, and our customer left for home with the memory of an enjoyable evening and a signed Portman Road sign for his ITFC supporting sons. “

Ipswich Town v Brentford – Saturday 4th March

Damian Anderson about Saturday’s game

“Yet another very enjoyable match day experience from the Directors Box on Saturday. All the staff are a credit to Ipswich Town Football Club.”

Richard Hibbert at KSL Sudbury shares his thoughts with us

“Saturday was great and all my guests really enjoyed it.

The position and views were fantastic.  We were looked after really well by the host and staff.  We really couldn’t have asked for anymore.  The live stream of the game was handy too.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend not only the boxes but getting involved in the Academy.  We have met some great people, entertained and enhanced relationships with our customers and had fun too.”

Ipswich Town v Leeds – Saturday 18th February

Simon Day  and Tony Harman from Goldstar Transport Ltd thoroughly enjoyed the game

“On behalf of Goldstar and our guests I would like to thank the staff at ITFC for their warm hospitality and looking after us. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day and the only downside was the result as we believed Town fully deserved the 3 points!!”

Thank you Tom and Helen Allen!

“We had a wonderful experience that was hugely appreciated by our 8 guests.

The stadium tour was as slick as ever but with the extra bonus of Mick McArthy appearing in the changing rooms volunteering for group photographs and being very amusing and personable. Simon Milton and Mick Stockwell really gave you a taste of what it would have been  like to be a player at the club and they have certainly got their banter up to scratch. I had one particular guest who has supported the Town for 48 years home and away and he was genuinely thrilled to go behind the scenes and then have lunch in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite. Similarly, in our group was a friend who has been watching every game for the last 32 years through the net of the goal at the North Stand end and she was so happy for the experience of this day. Her season ticket neighbour at the other end of the ground couldn’t believe that she had been photographed with Mick McArthy and Luke Chambers (man of the match) and she had to text photographic evidence!

On top of the excellent lunch and entertaining game we were able to shake hands with the two Dutch legends of the past. Frans Thijssen is my all time greatest Town player and so to meet him was a great honour.

Of course all that was missing was a Town victory but we couldn’t fault the team’s energy, passion or determination and on another day we could have won that game 4-1.

Thanks to Simon, Rosie, Oana and all of the staff for making our day so special.”

Gary Miller from the Alderton Swan and his son shares their match-day experience

“A real treat was had by my son and I last Saturday as we were invited by the club to view the match against Leeds in the Directors Box.

Not only were events on the pitch exciting but the atmosphere in the seats also exhilarating. We were both warmly welcomed by many of the ITFC team from Managing Director to the Stewards, with special thanks also to Simon Milton for both the invite and making time for a chat despite the numerous other demands on his time during match day

Superb hospitality and a great afternoon thank you sincerely once again”

Peter Bennett at GMA Warehousing & Transport Ltd said:

“I used the tickets for this game with a guest and as usual, the service, atmosphere and facilities were excellent and the “Portman Pies” were amazing !

The staff are always very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the experience and the match.”

Happy 50th Birthday to Martin Talbot!

“I’m just back from Portman Road after a fantastic day at today’s match – using the two tickets I bought in auction at the London supporters event a year ago for my 50th birthday.

It was great to see so many of our legendary players, managers and coaches at the game. It really does remind you what a great club we have. My wife (a Spurs fan) also had a great day – especially when she found herself sitting behind Jason Dozzell… (An ex-Spur, of course)

Thank you very much for offering the tickets up for auction in the first place. I will be bidding again!!”

Ipswich Town v Reading – Saturday 4th February

Stuart Buttle from JPR Insurance Brokers Limited shared his thoughts with us

“The greeting, quality of the executive box, the food, all the way through to leaving post-match, the hospitality provided by the ITFC staff was impeccable.

Nothing was too much to ask and always done with a smile. I look forward to enjoying this match day experience again soon.”
