Town’s Under 18s will have to wait a while longer before continuing their impressive FA Youth Cup run, following the FA’s decision to temporarily suspend this season’s competition. This decision, which was announced on Tuesday (12th January 2020), has been taken due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the latest national lockdown and the knock-on effects relating to player and staff health, travel and logistics.

During November and December of 2020, Adem Atay’s team navigated three rounds of the competition by knocking out Southend United (home, 4-1), Chelmsford City (away, 5-0) and Fulham (home, 3-2). The Blues will host Swindon Town in the 4th Round, but following this week’s announcement the date and time of this fixture are unknown at present.
