ROUND-UP: U23S STUNG BY HORNETS, U18S DRAW WITH SPURS

Ipswich Town’s Under 23s and Under 18s both played fixtures prior to the arrival of the weekend’s snowfall.

On Friday afternoon (5th February), Kieron’s Dyer’s Under 23s (sponsored by CNet Training) travelled to Watford for a Professional Development League South match, hoping to bounce back from the defeat at Cardiff earlier in the week. Goals from Zak Brown and Zanda Siziba sandwiched two Watford strikes as the Blues looked to have earned a point, but there was a sting in the tail as the Hornets grabbed a 90th minute winner and the match finished 3-2 to the hosts.

On Saturday morning (6th February), while the First Team were preparing to take on Blackpool at Portman Road later that afternoon, Adem Atay’s Under 18s (sponsored by Britton Group) travelled to Tottenham Hotspur to take on the young Spurs in a friendly. This game finished in a 2-2 draw, in a match in which all Town squad members enjoyed time on the pitch given the roll-on, roll-off nature of the fixture’s substitutions. Town’s goal scorers were Alfie Cutbush and Matt Ward.
