Adem Atay and Jason Dozzell’s Ipswich Town Under 18s (sponsored by Britton Group) returned from their top-of-the-table away clash at Millwall with point on Saturday (20th February 2021), following a 3-3 draw.
The Young Blues got off to a flying start, as Harley Curtis (pictured) netted the opener within the first sixty seconds (1′). By the time the half-time whistle had blown, however, the Londoners had completely turned the match on its head with three first-half goals (10′, 24′ and 41′).
The scoreline stayed at 3-1 to the hosts until past the hour mark, when Town struck twice in quick succession. Albie Armin (62′) reduced the deficit, before Curtis (’68) levelled the scores. That’s the way things remained, as each team took a point. The teams still sit in first and second in the Professional Development League South, with Millwall ahead on 23 points from 14 matches. Ipswich are just one point behind, however, with 22 points from 12 matches, meaning Town can return to the top of the table by winning one or both of the games in hand.
ITFC Under 18s’ next league fixture is this coming Saturday 27th February, when we host Cardiff City behind closed doors at Playford Road.
