Ipswich Town Under 18s went back to the summit of the Professional Development League South Table at the weekend, with a convincing home win against Cardiff City.

Town played host to the club from the Welsh capital at Playford Road on Saturday (27th February 2021), knowing that victory could take them back above Millwall into top spot. That’s exactly how it panned out for Adem Atay’s side, too, as a pair of strikes in each half gave the young Blues a 4-1 victory.

Harley Curtis, on a hot run of scoring form following his brace against Millwall last time out, put Town ahead on 18 minutes. The lead was doubled in additional time at the end of the first-half, as Albie Armin (the other goal scorer from the Millwall game) struck just before the referee brought the first period to a close.

The Bluebirds pulled one back after the break, but an Alfie Cutbush penalty on 74 minutes restablished Ipswich’s two-goal cushion before an 86th-minute strike from Ola Bello (pictured) sealed the points.

ITFC Under 18s (sponsored by Britton Group) are back in league action on Tuesday 9th March with a trip to Queens Park Rangers, after which they will embark on a run of three consecutive home matches (Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester United) before the end of the month.
