Ipswich Town Women’s First-Team wore their new front-of-shirt logo for the first time yesterday (Sunday 25th April), in an away friendly against Southampton.
Last week, Liz and Tim Edwards kindly agreed to extend their sponsorship of ITFC Women’s team via a front-of-shirt sponsorship for the end-of-season friendlies – starting with yesterday’s game. They opted to use the sponsorship to promote their Ipswich Town Heritage Society brand, with the full story available to read here: https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/april/itfc-heritage-society-to-sponsor-womens-team-fixture/
The game was played at Saint Mary’s Stadium, the south coast club’s main ground which is typically home to the their men’s team’s Premier League matches. The result may not have been what the Tractor Girls were hoping for, with Saints triumphing 4-1, but the match proved to be a valuable test for Joe Sheehan’s side whose consolation goal was scored by Paige Peake from the penalty spot just before the hour mark.
