Our Under 18s’ FA Youth Cup Quarter-Final victory understandably grabbed the headlines over the past few days, but a number of other fixtures have also taken place across the Academy and Women’s Programme since our last news stories were published. Here is a summary:

UNDER 18 (

As well as the dramatic cup win, Adem Atay and Jason Dozzell’s young Blues have had several league matches over the past week-and-a-half. Town have secured a second-placed finish regardless of the remaining results, thus qualifying for the end-of-season play-offs. The opposition for the play-offs is yet to be decided, although the most likely is Wigan Athletic who sit top of the Northern section at the time of writing.

UNDER 23 (–results/)

Town’s Under 23s, led by Kieron Dyer and Terry Butcher, has mirrored the Under 18s’ achievement of reaching the post-season play-offs via a second-placed league finish. Their opponents will be Sheffield United on a date to be confirmed:

After defeat at Billericay Town (1-2) in the Women’s FA Cup on 4th April, following the in-house friendly against the Academy (mentioned above) on 11th April and ahead of the away friendly at Southampton (1-4, on 25th April, our Women’s First-Team also hosted Portsmouth at Playford Road recently:

The next Women’s 1st Team game is a behind-closed-doors friendly at home to Nottingham Forest (of the third Tier) on Sunday 16th May.
